Graduate Students from 4 leading Business Schools go Brussels!
and learn from them in different environments
In 2021, four leading European Business Schools decided to move forward with a new cooperation project for their Master’s in Business and Management students: Copenhagen Business School in Denmark, ESSEC Business School in France, IE Business School in Spain and Mannheim Business School in Germany joined forces to enable their students to learn more about Europe, its politics, and its corporate world and created the European Management Track (EMT).
It combines intercultural, political and business studies in less than 5 months duration.

After getting to know each other during the European Management Seminar in Brussels in August and having learned more about the European institutions, Europe’s politics, history and societies, the students will head to their exchange campuses at the respective partner schools for one semester in fall.
For the on-campus experiences, each school offers a specialization track in sought-after business subjects taught by top-notch researchers of their fields to prepare students for leading future roles, thus making valuable contributions to Europe’s future.
Customized EMT courses include topics such as Corporate Finance, Sustainability in Governance and Investments, Entrepreneurship as well as Negotiation and Procurement.
The institutions will award a joint program certificate to each student.
The overall goal of the network is to accelerate Europe’s political and social unity as well as its economic strength for the well-being of Europe and its people and to make use of the strengths of European diversity.
The four highly renowned European institutions in the EMT partner network are all triple-crown accredited with a high reputation in research and teaching. All four schools traditionally maintain a strong international network and significant corporate connections of which their communities highly benefit from.
Each business school offers its own EMT specific track including 2 to 3 courses. Besides these cohort specific courses, students can choose additional courses from the wide range of electives at each business school.

The 4-days EMT seminar held in Brussels in late August is meant to familiarise the EMT students with what the EU does and how decisions are made. Activities to showcase the best Brussels and the EU have to offer will be mixed. Learning opportunities will be intertwined with meetings with EU officials, site visits to discover European institutions and moments of conviviality to mix and network with peers and Brussels actors.
"The EMT is an awesome opportunity for anyone interested in discovering new cultures and also in the workings of the EU. I am beyond grateful for being part of the program through which I could enrich my horizon and form incredible friendships.
I can highly recommend it!"
“I highly recommend EMT to anyone who's interested in a business education as well as truly understanding how Europe and its institutions work.”
Marie Nöltgen
EMT Student in 2023
"As part of the first EMT cohort, I am grateful to have been involved in something special. During the seminar in Brussels, we had a hands-on experience of life inside the European Union and the difficulties during major negotiations. The trip was the perfect get-together and a great networking opportunity for both the semester and beyond. I spent my semester abroad at CBS where I met some wonderful people and found the specialization for my master thesis, which directly correlated with contents from my lectures in Denmark. Overall, I can only recommend the EMT program!"
“I highly recommend EMT to anyone who's interested in a business education as well as truly understanding how Europe and its institutions work.”
Eric Schmitt
EMT Student in 2022
"The EMT is a challenging and highly rewarding experience that I would highly recommend to anyone interested in European business and culture.
The introductory seminar in Brussels provides a concrete understanding of how the European Union institutions function and allows us to meet each other. The ESG specialization offered by CBS is of excellent quality and gives the opportunity to learn more about green finance and European taxonomy in particular, which are two increasingly important topics in the business world."
“I highly recommend EMT to anyone who's interested in a business education as well as truly understanding how Europe and its institutions work.”

Students need to truly understand the diversity of Europe. They will gain this by adding a semester abroad to their academic track record. Studying at another international oriented business school will help them to understand that every environment is different and that they need to look at matters from different point of views in order to be prepared for their international career.
All EMT partner schools are among the top institutions in Europe, all are triple accredited, strong in research and highly international in their outlook.
The EMT specializations are a great opportunity to gain expertise in sought-after fields of business administration and to benefit from the host institution’s academic strengths.
The common introduction course in Brussels will provide the participants with deep insights into the workings of the EU and Europe, while studying together with students from a wide range of nationalities and backgrounds will enhance their intercultural competence.
And since the EMT students will not only get to know students at their respective host institution, but everyone across the EMT cohort, all students will build an even larger network of young talents who are enthusiastic about Europe.
After their successful participation in the program, students will receive the EMT certificate displaying the host school as well as the specialization.
And finally, participating in the EMT enables students to visit, study and live in highly attractive European cities.
